Now it has been 4 months, I think EA released 3 patches for the game, I was playing the game at least one hour for a day and gone through several new mods. The NRAAS Traveler is also a good mod for stuff like this. If you have World Adventures, you can move your Sims to a new world using Traveler, maintain relationships, and go back to visit your friends in the original town just like you would go on vacation to Al Simhara etc.
