Bootcamp Partition Not Showing Up

/ Comments off

After running Time Machine on the Mac partition I restarted the iMac to Windows 7. I did not eject and unplug the ext HD before restarting, not sure if it played into my problem or not but thought I’d mention. Once Windows 7 started I opened up My Computer and I did not see the ext HD listed. After all efforts if u do not find it in windows system,go in mac systems with action od simultaneously press power n optin key you will find both operating system start up icon select machentosh and open boot camp and action option then download bootcamp supporting files in a fat format usb drive then insatall in windows.after installation boot camp icon and its all supporting file will work.

When trying to create partition I get this error message :

I’m hoping this is an easy fix as I’ve been in the forums and youtube but have not found an answer. When I restore a winclone image to new formatted external SSD drive the process completes but when I go to System Preferences, StartUp Disk, the new boot camp on the external drive is not showing up.

Not

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again.

But when i check my drive under disk utility it says that my drive is already in MacOS External (journaled). What could the problem be? I posted this previously but I haven't got any suggestions. I currently have no partitions. My time machine is dead, can I re-format without back-up? If I don't have any partitions why wont some files transfer? I'm new to Mac OS so please be as descriptive as possible, thanx. by the way, im trying to create a partition for Windows7, if that's of any help.

Is this a good question?
