Restore Last Session Firefox Manually
Firefox browser users can disable reloading of web pages at launch after a reboot. There’s a setting that allows you to configure this and get rid of the annoying feature. However, Session Restore Crash Recovery feature is enabled by default. You’ll need to disable it manually. Let’s see how to do this.
Disable Session Restore Crash Recovery in Firefox
At times, when you choose to open a heavy or complicated webpage, it loads normally but freezes after a few seconds. To fix this, you quit the browser and relaunch it. Upon relaunch, the browser reloads everything that was previously open thus refreezing your PC again.
Restore Last Session Google
Python Selenium Webdriver Restore Previous Session. To achieve this I have changed settings of Firefox profile to 'Show your windows and tabs from last time'. Now, whenever I am opening this profile manually it always the page I closed last time with session. Now whenever I am doing the same thing from python selenium it is not opening.
Example, when you have multiple tabs playing videos opened, the browser will crash, and when you try to launch the browser again, it will open all old tabs and windows. As such, all these videos will start playing at once and lead to crashing of the browser.
While most find this feature of reloading the tabs – as you do not lose the web pages you were reading – if you find this annoying you can disable this feature.
A setting in the browser prevents restoring a previous session when Firefox is opened after an unexpected close or software crash.
- If you have Firefox browser installed on your PC, open it and type about: config in its location bar and press Enter.
- The action when confirmed will open the Configuration Editor (about: config page) and give you access to the list of Firefox settings known as preferences. It allows you to modify the behavior of the browser.
- If you see “This might void your warranty!” warning page, click ‘I’ll be careful, I promise’ button to continue to the about: config page.
- Then, in the Search box at the top, type ‘browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes’ and wait for few seconds.
- In the resulting grid, double-click on the setting and set the Integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about: config page.
Hereafter, you will not notice the reloading of web pages at launch after a reboot or a crash. The Session Restore crash recovery feature will be disabled completely.
